These issues are caused by a loss of volume below the eyes in the area between the lower eyelid and the cheekbone. They are often accompanied by a darkening in skin colour.

Redensity 2 dermal filler for dark circles

Additionally to Hyaluronic acid which corrects the volume loss, this product contains a restructuring complex that stimulates the production of collagen and elastin and improves skin quality as well. It works on skin hydration and rejuvenation because it also contains a cocktail of 14 essential nutrients. In comparison to other fillers, it has less propensity to draw water and, as such, there is a much smaller risk for swelling that is critical for the under-eye area.

What should I expect during the under eye hollow treatment?
Prior to the procedure an ice pack and, if needed, topical anaesthetic cream will be applied under the eye area to numb the skin, shrink the blood vessels and decrease risk of bruises. After that the filler is judiciously injected using either a very thin needle or blunt cannula. Which one will be used depends on the appearance and complexity of your particular issue. There are a few different techniques used to treat under eye area problems. Your treatment will be customized to your particular needs. Intermittently throughout the injection process the filler needs to be carefully molded by a finger or a cotton swab. An ice pack will be applied after the injection is over. The procedure takes about 45 minutes.
Is the filler injection under eyes painful?
This procedure is associated with minimal pain. Majority of patients characterized it as discomfor and pleasantly surprised it was not that painful as they expected. Also, to minimize any discomfort, numbing cream and ice are applied prior to the injection.
How many syringes do I need to correct the tear trough?
Majority of patients require 1 syringe for full correction, however, in rare cases where under eye hollow are very deep the patient may need up to 2 syringes might be needed. However, at Madison Cosmetic Centre we believe that the best results are achieved through gradual improvement. Our advice is to do those 2 syringes in 2 sessions, because about a 20% improvement is still expected over a month after the procedure due to the production of collagen and elastin stimulated by this filler.
How long does the under eye filler last?
Your body will naturally break down the hyaluronic acid filler, though the process is gradual. You can expect a solid result lasting 9-12 months. However we see many patients come for a touch-up treatment even 18-24 months after the initial treatment with still good residual effect.
How long is the downtime after the Redensity II filler treatment?
There is minimal to no downtime has been reported by majority of our patients after this procedure. You may have some swelling after the injection that usually disappear within a couple of days. However, in rare cases when you develop a bruise, it can take a week to resolve it. The bruise can be covered by make up starting next day after the procedure.
What care should be taken after the procedure?
Don't massage the under eye area for 2 weeks in order to avoid displacement of the filler.
Avoid spicy and salty food a few days before and after the treatment to decrease risk of swelling.
For 2 nights sleep with your pillow elevated and avoid sleeping on your stomach.
If there is swelling, you can use an eye pack on and off for 10 min intervals a few times a day.
For bruises you may use Arnica cream to help it clear faster.
